Adoption Process Details

  • There’s a lot to consider when adding a puppy into your life.

My mission is to breed quality mini-Bernedoodles that make every day better. Take some time to review the website to learn about my breeding philosophy, research my dogs, check out the pictures of previous puppies, and learn about the timing of future litters. You might want to learn more about Bernedoodles in general to be sure the breed is a good fit. Scroll through our Facebook and Instagram pages to follow the journey with each of our litters. Reach out for a conversation to answer your questions and talk through your unique story. I work hard to make the perfect match and knowing my families is part of what I love about Better Day Bernedoodles. Finally, I’ll send you a short questionnaire/application to fill out.

  • Ready to commit?

After determining that you want to add a Better Day Bernedoodle puppy into your life, the next step is a $500 non-refundable deposit. This gives you a personalized “pick-spot” for the litter (e.g., “Pick #3”). Our litters typically have 4-6 deposits before the puppies are born - so don’t wait! I take deposits months in advance, and all the pick spots are the same price. I operate on a first-come-first-pick philosophy. While the deposit is non-refundable, it can be transferred to a future litter because I know that life can change, and I want you to be ready for this new family member.

  • It’s time to choose!

During the 5th or 6th week, I’ll schedule a time (in person or virtual) for you to meet the litter and make your choice based upon your pick order. I’m sure you’ll be following along on social media, so you’ll already have a sense of the puppies’ personalities. But we’ll also talk in more detail about your family and the individual puppies. Since I spend so much time with the litter, I have a good sense of all their temperaments, and I’m happy to make a recommendation. We’ll talk about any products or services to consider so that you’re prepared for your new addition. Additionally, this is a great time to leave a blanket or toy with your puppy to help smooth their transition to your home in 2 weeks.

  • Everyone’s favorite day!

After 8 weeks of intentional training and personalized care, your puppy is ready for his or her forever home. I’ll schedule a time for you to pick up your new family member. Your final visit will include registering the your puppy’s micro-chip, reviewing the health guarantee and medical history, paying the balance due, and taking a few pictures. The final visit is about 30 minutes. If you’re flying into Indianapolis, we’re 25 minutes from the airport.
